Dashen Bank is a top-flight Bank in Ethiopia to introduce technology-based services to the public. Recently the Bank has started issuing and acquiring of VISA branded payment cards for the first time in the history of the Ethiopian banking industry.

The bank has now introduced local debit card, diversifying the product in the ensuing, and established the required infrastructure including installation of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Point of Sale (POS) Terminals.

Using a card as a means to pay provides convenience and security, facility to shopping off-working hours, access to cash 24 X 7 via the ATMs and the requirement to get the card is no more than to have a bank account in one of Dashen Area Banks. Anyone who has a VISA branded card can take out cash from the ATMs and effect payment through his/her card at merchant locations.
